Course Description

The St. Jude Global Academy in Pediatric Onco-Critical Care (GA-POCC) is designed to deepen providers’ knowledge of managing children with cancer and catastrophic diseases who develop critical illness. GA-POCC Advanced is a 14-week online course covering 12 modules.

The online course will run from January 26 – May 1, 2026. GA-POCC Advanced is mostly asynchronous, with a live, interactive session held every other week. These live sessions will take place on Fridays at 8 a.m. Central Standard Time (CST) and are recorded for participants who cannot attend. Dates are tentative and subject to change.

Goal of Course

At the end of this training, participants will understand critical complications and appropriate management strategies specific to pediatric hematology-oncology patients. They will have a working knowledge of scientific communication practices to support dissemination of research aimed at improving care and outcomes for pediatric onco-critical care patients globally.

Eligibility:

Eligible applicants must:

  • Be a physician responsible for the care of critically ill children with cancer or blood disorders (course primarily directed at pediatric intensivists or subspecialists serving this role in their hospital, e.g., pediatric hematologist-oncologist, general pediatrician, etc.)
  • Have previously completed the GA-POCC (2019-2024) or GA-POCC Fundamentals (2025) course
  • Be fluent in written and spoken English

Application Requirements

To apply for GA-POCC, you must:

  • Complete the online application form
  • Submit an English-language CV
  • Submit a letter of support (LOS) from your supervisor (unit or hospital director) supporting your participation in the course, with permission to spend up to 6 hours per week for the duration of the online course

You must upload your CV and LOS documents within the application platform to apply. We must receive your application and both documents by December 19, 2025, for your application to be eligible for consideration.

Cost

There is no fee to register. The online course is free to selected applicants. It is delivered via the Cure4Kids online educational platform.
