Dear all,

The Department of Global Pediatric Medicine and St. Jude Global Clinical Training Programs at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital is excited to announce that the application for the St. Jude Global Observership Program is now open for observerships in 2025.

The goal of the program is to provide medical professionals involved in the care of children with cancer and life-threatening blood disorders the opportunity to enhance their knowledge and/or learn a new skill that will help improve the care of their patients.

It is important to note that as an observer, active participation in clinical care (examining patients, for example) is strictly not permitted.

Eligible applicants:

  • Must be a professional that’s involved in the care of children with cancer and life-threatening blood disorders, needing to learn a new skill or enhance existing knowledge
  • Must be available for a 1–4-week observership
  • Professionals in training (medical students, residents, fellows) are not considered for this process
  • Applicant needs to provide specific objectives
  • English fluency (written and spoken) required

Application components:

  • Online application
  • CV in English
  • Letter of support from direct supervisor (Unit or Hospital Director) supporting your participation in an observership at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital(if the applicant is selected).
  • A Personal Statement

Dates:

  • Application opens: May 20, 2024
  • Application deadline: June 14, 2024
  • Observerships will be scheduled for:
  • January-May 2025
  • August-December 2025

*Please note that we will make an effort to accommodate the dates requested, but it depends on the availability of the different departments.
